Breathing Coach Certification: Online vs. In-Person Training

Updated: 4 days ago

62% of people say their lives have been disrupted by stress. And another 39% had to take work off in the last year because of it.

Our lives are becoming increasingly busy, and it's taking a toll on us. However, you can combat stress and anxiety by focusing on your holistic wellness. This starts with controlled breathwork that can calm your body and mind.

In today's fast-paced world, the significance of breathwork in enhancing overall well-being, managing stress, and improving performance is gaining widespread recognition. And in turn, the demand for qualified breathing coaches surges.

If you want to take breathwork instructor training courses with Reconnect, then you have two options, which both have their own advantages and drawbacks.

Read on to find out more about getting a breathing coach certification online or in person.

Breathing Coach Certification: Online

Those taking the breathwork facilitator training online with Reconnect will go through a unique 8-week course.

You'll learn how to assess a client's breathing and see where the pain points exist. Then you'll learn how to completely reshape dysfunctional patterns to make the breath work for the body, not against it. Depending on the client's level of stress, anxiety, insomnia, etc., you'll understand which practices to recommend for their specific ailments and you'll have various resources to share with them to make learning simple.

We'll have group calls every Wednesday at 6:30 pm EST, where the founder of Reconnect, Kevin Connelly, will give you guidance, answer your burning questions, perform breath-science experiments, and get deeper into the history and theory of the breath.

Each week you'll have informative lecture/discussion to watch on various areas of breathing, as well as breath exercises to practice on your own. Then, you'll do partner exercises with fellow participants to practice the skills you've learned.

Finally, you'll complete a case study where you'll actually take on a client and guide them through our system. We'll give you feedback and direction and to support you in becoming a confident and knowledgeable instructor.

Breathing Coach Certification Online
With Reconnect, you can get your Breathing Coach Certification: Online or In-Person

Advantages

The main advantage of doing an online course is that you don't have to go anywhere to participate in the lessons. Simply log on from the comfort of your home (or any other location you're at), and you can access all the course materials. These include guest lectures (alongside those from Kevin), an in-depth instructor manual, music playlists for breath & cold, scripts, and much more.

In addition, you can go at your own pace. While there are weekly calls, you can read and process the online classes whenever you wish. You can supplement gaps in knowledge with the live calls and one-on-one personalized mentoring.

Because there are no travel expenses, plus the online course costs less, this option is great for those on a smaller budget. You won't have to take time off work either, as you can go to the office in the daytime, then study afterward during the evening call sessions.

Drawbacks

The biggest drawback to online courses is the lack of face-to-face interactions. Some people just need that human physical human interaction when learning.

That's why we've worked to make the live calls as interesting as possible. While we've packed loads of research, stories, and informative video discussions into the course, we use the live calls to go deeper.

Cost

You can make a one-time payment of $1,399, or you can spread the cost and make 10 monthly payments of $149.

Breathing Coach Certification: In Person

You can also become a breathwork practitioner by taking our in-person course, which is set in sunny Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

The in-person breathwork certification course is much shorter than the online certification. You'll be with us for 6 days, during which Kevin (and others) will lead the sessions. Similar to the online course, you'll learn the breath assessment tools, 10 different breathing exercises, theory, science, and we'll have an amazing music-curated breathwork journey by our very own Sianna Altiise.

Advantages

It's easier to make connections in person, whether it's with your instructor or fellow classmates. You'll get to spend time by the beautiful beach, learning effective breathwork techniques that'll enrich your life, and then the lives of others.

The classes are small too; there's a maximum of 10 participants, so you'll have plenty of one-on-one time with Kevin. This also gives you better opportunities to get to know other students.

You’ll also have the opportunity to attend the ice bath and breathwork sessions hosted by Reconnect.  Here you’ll truly experience how the breathing supports the cold plunge immersions, all while looking out at the turquoise Caribbean Sea. There’s no better way of knowing HOW to run and host breathwork, than doing it for yourself.

You'll also learn to host ice bath sessions, including the all important breathwork aspect

Drawbacks

In-person sessions are slightly more expensive, and you'll have to book time off of work to travel to Playa Del Carmen. If you're already local, then it won't be as big a deal as if you're flying in from the US. But there are many reasonably priced places to stay locally for the time you are in Mexico.

The duration of the training is much shorter. You'll need a few hours each day to read, practice, and study for the final Instructor Course Examination (ICE) which takes place on day 6.

Cost

A one-time payment of $1,549 or 10 monthly payments of $164 each.

What You'll Get With Both Choices

Online and in-person breathing coach certification have their own pros and cons. However, whichever you choose, you'll enjoy some of the same benefits. For example, both are accredited by the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM), meaning you'll get globally recognized credentials.

As we've mentioned before, all courses are taught by founder Kevin Connelly, and you'll get one-on-one personalized mentoring. Plus, you'll benefit from guest lecturers, and you'll get to practice with your classmates too.

Another fantastic thing is you'll learn more than just breathwork. In the second half of the training, you'll discover how to pair breathing exercises with ice baths to further your health.

In addition, you'll get lifelong access to the course and manual. In fact, we'll let you know when we update these things so you can have correct and current information.

Get the Best Breathwork Facilitator Training

Whether you choose to get a breathing coach certification online or in person is completely up to you. There are certain advantages and drawbacks to either, so take the time to evaluate them and determine what's important (and what's not).

Regardless of the decision you make, it'll be a step in the right direction. After learning breathing exercises, you'll be able to tackle health issues and significantly improve your quality of life.

Have you decided on the method of training that's ideal for you? Then book your breathwork certification course with us now. Reconnect has helped thousands of people improve their holistic wellness.
